b3 Computing is a local Toledo-based computer company looking to serve the area’s computing needs at very competitive prices. We are able to do this because of our low-overhead and inventory-free business model.

history

b3 Computing was founded in late 2005 by local Toledo, Ohio resident Brian Arthmire. Ever since his parents bought the family their first computer (IBM PC Jr.) at the age of nine, computing had always been a hobby; that is until attending Michigan State University (MSU) to make it a career. Throughout college, Brian took on several odd jobs in the field; learning how to assemble computers from scratch, run network cables, and eventually program software at Lockheed Martin. Graduating with a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from the College of Engineering and the Honor’s College of MSU, Brian married Mary and moved to Toledo, starting b3 Computing.

Having built computers for other individuals using parts over the internet, Brian noticed that a company could be designed without requiring an inventory. Since name-brand parts could be purchased from anywhere in the world in a moment’s notice, computers could be built at minimal cost and the resulting savings could be passed on to you. Additionally, the company is run out of the home, creating very low overhead (no office or utility costs) keeping costs even lower. We here at b3 Computing hope to continue to assist you in all of your computing needs at very competitive prices for many more years to come.

how we work

b3 Computing has a simple business model in design but complex in practice. We scour the internet looking for the best deals on name-brand parts. The chances that even one other company is overstocked in a particular item is extremely high; this allows us to pass exceptional savings on to you compared to purchasing the parts from a retail store.

However, since parts are ordered from numerous online stores across the world, there is a delay between when you place an order and when the parts arrive locally at b3 Computing. If you need your part(s) immediately, you might be better off paying the additional price at a retail store (although we can work with you on priority orders). Otherwise, if you can wait an average of one week for your order, you stand to save much more over competitors’ prices. As an added incentive, for every day that you have to wait for your order to arrive, we give you a discount off of your order (details described below)!

our offer

b3 Computing is able to offer you outstanding deals on name-brand parts because of our unique business model; parts are not ordered until you place an order. Due to this system structure, most customers must wait an average of one week for their order to arrive. To compensate you for this inconvenience, we are proud to offer you the following deal in addition to our already low prices:

take up to 25% off all hardware purchases

For each day that you must wait for your order to be completed, we will give you 1% off of your purchase (includes all hardware parts - excludes installation, labor, and software) up to a maximum of 25%. An order is placed either online by adding items to our shopping cart or by calling us by 04:00pm EST; any orders placed after 04:00pm are considered to be placed the following day. An order is completed when all of the parts have arrived and been installed (if applicable); it is at this time that we contact you that your order is ready for pickup and your total discount is computed.

For example, if you place an order for Windows XP Home Edition and 512MB of 333MHz DDR memory at 10:30pm on Jan 1st and the order is ready for pickup on Jan 8th at 08:30am, the delay is calculated as 6 days because you placed the order after 04:00pm; thus, your total discount on all hardware parts (in this case, the DDR memory; Windows XP is software) is an additional 6% off of the original price. As another example, let’s say that you placed the same order on the same day but at 10:30am and the order was not ready for pickup until Jan 31st. The delay is calculated as 25 days (even though it unfortunately took 31 days) and an additional 25% is taken off of all hardware parts in your order.
